Jenisha Parikh
She is a commercial lawyer with over a decade of experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. Her expertise encompasses both domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) funding, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and strategic exits, including schemes of merger and demerger. Throughout her career, she has worked with a diverse range of clients, including domestic and offshore investors, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), angel investors, startups, unicorns, listed companies, and family offices. Jenisha has developed a deep expertise in advising clients across multiple sectors, including fintech, edtech, fractional ownership of assets, pet care, technology, food retail, manufacturing, and gaming. Her regulatory experience is equally comprehensive, particularly in Indian exchange control laws, where she provides guidance on overseas investments, inbound foreign investments, and the permissibility of transactions under FEMA.
She also advises clients on SEBI regulations and various sector-specific laws, such as those governing fintech, edtech, food safety, drugs and cosmetics, and gaming. In addition to her transactional and regulatory expertise, Jenisha regularly represents clients before regulatory authorities, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for compounding applications, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for settlement and exemption applications, and other relevant regulators. Jenisha Parikh is an alumna of the prestigious West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, and has previously worked with top-tier law firms, including Trilegal, Nishith Desai Associates, and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
Ashish Sodhani
He is a seasoned FEMA specialist and international tax lawyer with over 12 years of experience, renowned for his expertise in cross-border transactions, international tax structuring, and tax litigation. He acts as a trusted advisor, guiding clients on inbound and outbound transactions, tax structuring, and controversies, as well as on wealth and succession planning for private clients. Throughout his career, Ashish has worked with a wide range of clients, including startups, multinational corporations, foreign educational institutions, EdTech and pharmaceutical companies, not-for-profits, listed companies, and gaming companies. His deep experience spans advising on international tax and exchange control matters, assisting businesses with structuring and restructuring operations, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. In addition to his tax expertise, Ashish is well-versed in providing advice on treaty benefits, withholding tax implications, and managing international tax disputes.
He has represented clients in high-profile cases before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, and Tribunals, particularly in areas such as indirect transfer tax, transfer pricing, and other international tax controversies. His FEMA practice is equally robust, where he advises on new Overseas Direct Investment (ODI) regulations, the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) issues, and import-export regulations, and represents clients in compounding matters.
An alumnus of Government Law College, Mumbai, Ashish previously led the GST, tax litigation, and transactional tax practices at Nishith Desai Associates, where he honed his skills in navigating complex tax environments and providing strategic counsel to clients.
